Project- and change management

In today’s dynamic supply chain environment, effective project and change management is critical to ensuring operational success. As highlighted in the latest 3PL Study, both shippers (61%) and 3PLs (73%) agree that change management is crucial for adapting to evolving customer demands, economic shifts, and technological advancements. Whether it's deploying new technology, improving visibility, or aligning multiple stakeholders across the supply chain, structured change management can significantly reduce resistance and enhance communication.
With expertise in managing large-scale logistics projects and navigating complex change processes, I help organizations successfully implement transformations that drive long-term value and efficiency.

Project management

As a seasoned project manager, I bring a wealth of experience in using different methodologies tailored to the unique needs of each project. Whether employing Agile/SCRUM for iterative and flexible development or the more structured Prince2 and Waterfall methodologies, I ensure that the right approach is applied based on the complexity and goals of the project.

Agile/SCRUM allows for rapid development with regular feedback loops, ensuring that any changes in the project’s requirements are addressed in real time. On the other hand, methodologies like Prince2 are highly effective for well-defined, large-scale projects that require a clear timeline and deliverables. This flexibility in applying the appropriate methodology ensures that projects run smoothly, meet deadlines, and stay within budget.

While these methodologies are crucial to driving the project forward, the success of any implementation ultimately depends on more than just the processes—it's about managing people and ensuring they embrace the changes. That’s where change management comes in. It's not enough to have a well-structured project; addressing the softer aspects of change, such as employee adaptation and stakeholder alignment, is key to long-term success. What is Change Management?
IBM defines change management (CM) as “the method by which an organization communicates and implements change. This includes a structured approach to managing people and processes through organizational change.” In today’s rapidly evolving business landscape, change management is critical, especially during leadership transitions, mergers and acquisitions, technology upgrades, or the adoption of digital and AI solutions. A well-thought-out change plan can align departments, streamline operations, and ensure that everyone works towards the same organizational goals.

A recent study in the 2025 3PL Study shows that supply chain visibility (noted by 69% of shippers and 68% of 3PLs) and technology advancements (cited by 62% of shippers and 63% of 3PLs) are top drivers of change. As these areas evolve, the ability to manage change effectively becomes even more critical for staying competitive.

Approaches to Change Management
There are many frameworks available for guiding organizations through change. According to the 2025 3PL Study, 58% of shippers and 76% of 3PLs report using structured change management processes. Popular models include the McKinsey 7-S framework, Kotter’s 8-Step Change Model, and the ADKAR model. Interestingly, 36% of shippers and 29% of 3PLs use in-house proprietary systems to manage change, often based on these models.

However, there’s still room for improvement—20% of shippers and 33% of 3PLs do not currently use a structured framework at all. These numbers highlight that many organizations could significantly benefit from a more robust change management strategy.

Key Success Factors
Successful change management requires more than just following a framework. It's essential to engage all stakeholders early in the process, communicating the purpose and benefits of the change, aligning it with the company’s strategic objectives, and ensuring timely training. Identifying and addressing resistance early on is also critical to ensuring that everyone moves in the same direction. A well-managed change process not only ensures that the project is delivered on time and within budget but also that employees feel supported throughout the transition.

With years of experience guiding companies through complex transitions, I understand the nuances of both project and change management. If you're looking for guidance on how to manage organizational change effectively, I’d be happy to discuss how I can support your team. Let’s talk about how we can drive success together.
